Crimson Moon Frost Build: Gear, Boons and How to Play
Never stop moving. Sprint into things to freeze them, and get the stamina back for doing it.

Frost slows a target and, at enough stacks, Freezes it outright. This build applies almost all of it while running: the sprint attack carries 1000 Frost, the offhand leaves a freezing trail behind you, and the Weapon Art encases whatever you arrive next to. The stamina to keep sprinting comes back out of the same hits.
The build
Angel Form
Weapon Arts — bound to the weapons above
Boons — picked up at Nexus Gates, unless a trinket guarantees one
- Resounding ChargeWhen you hit an enemy with a Sprint Attack, you gain +25 stamina.
- Relentless Momentum+20% Damage from Sprint Attacks.
- Crusader’s FrostYour Cold Effects gain +10 power.
- Frozen VowLight Attack hits apply 200 Frost.
Why these choices
Effects are quoted from the database, so you can check each claim on the page it comes from.
- Frost Diamond guarantees Frostbound Charge: Sprint Attack hits apply 1000 Frost. That is the largest single Frost application in the Boon list and it is tied to the button this build presses most.
- Resounding Charge returns 25 Stamina on a Sprint Attack hit, which is what makes running the default rather than something you ration.
- Relentless Momentum adds +20% Damage from Sprint Attacks, supporting the attack that applies Frostbound Charge.
- Ice Trail, on the Lunar Sentinel Shield, leaves a trail of Frost while moving — the only Weapon Art in the game that pays you for going somewhere.
- Crusader's Frost gives Cold Effects +10 power. That supports Cold effects; it does not increase the stamina or sprint-damage bonuses listed above.
- Sunder is the mobility Sigil: the game describes it as excelling in angelic flight and dashes. Aegis is the armoured one, and this build is not.
- The name describes a sprint-attack playstyle, not a measured movement-speed increase. Resounding Charge supports that plan by returning stamina on a hit.
How to play this build
- Make Frostbound Charge your starting trigger by equipping Frost Diamond. Approach with enough stamina to land a sprint attack and still dodge away; sprinting continuously before contact can leave you empty.
- Use Winter Sun when enemies are close enough for its area, and Ice Trail while repositioning. Both are Weapon Arts: watch your mana and cooldowns instead of treating the effects as free passive damage.
- At Nexus Gates, look for Resounding Charge to recover stamina on sprint hits, then support the attacks you are landing with Relentless Momentum or the listed Frost Boons. Reset your position after a miss rather than forcing another lunge.
Where to start and what to substitute
- Revenant Blade also carries Winter Sun. It can fill the one-handed slot if you have it before Sword of the Lunar Sentinel; keep the Art, then compare the actual rarity and upgrades you own.
- Without Frost Diamond, this exact sprint-trigger plan is incomplete. Start with a Frost Weapon Art you own and take a compatible Frost application Boon when offered; do not assume a Gate will supply Frostbound Charge.
- Use your available defensive armor while collecting Lunar Sentinel pieces. Keep Aegis until Sunder is unlocked. The two-handed slot is intentionally open for a weapon you are comfortable using when sprinting is unsafe.
Find equipment through exploration and mission rewards, then purify recovered gear at Sanctus Clypeus to make it available for future loadouts. Blacksmith upgrades are permanent. See gear and Purification for the progression steps.

When to change the plan
This plan depends on landing sprint attacks and having room to move. We have not measured its clear times or boss performance, and no universal Frost weakness is assumed.
Make it yours
Nothing here is fixed. There are no classes in Crimson Moon, so every slot above is a choice you can change — and half a build is decided during the hunt anyway, at the Nexus Gates. Post what you end up running.
