Crimson Moon Fire Build: Burning Aura Gear and Boons
Stand inside a burning aura twice the size it should be and let the fire spread itself.

Mahkten gear is the one set whose own pieces build a fire loadout for you. The chest doubles the size of Weapon Art auras, the helmet raises Fire power by 35, and the sword's Art is an aura — so three separate pieces are pulling on the same effect before you have chosen a single Boon.
The build
Angel Form
Weapon Arts — bound to the weapons above
Boons — picked up at Nexus Gates, unless a trinket guarantees one
- Zeal of the FaithfulYou and allies within 10 meters of you deal (+10% Damage vs Burning enemies).
- Trial By FlameWhen you hit an enemy with an Attack, they have a 25% chance to suffer Burning.
- Crown of CindersYou do not take Damage from Burning effects.
- Ashen VerdictWhen you hit a Burning enemy with a Heavy Attack they have a 50% chance to be Knocked Down.
Why these choices
Effects are quoted from the database, so you can check each claim on the page it comes from.
- Burning Heart carries Aura of the Burning Heart, and the Mahkten chest grants Ascendant Auras innately: Weapon Art Auras are doubled in size. The set was built for this weapon.
- The Mahkten helmet grants Purging Fire innately — your Fire Effects gain +35 power — so the aura is bigger and hotter from the armour alone.
- Burning Heart also grants Scorching Verdict innately: Heavy Attack hits have a 75% chance to apply Burning. You do not have to hope for it at a Gate.
- Gajov's Amulet guarantees Cleansing Conflagration, which spreads Burning to everything within 5 metres of a burning enemy. In a crowd the aura only has to light one.
- Bonfire of the Soul adds +25% Burning Duration, so what the aura lights stays lit after you move on.
- Crown of Cinders means you take no damage from Burning effects — worth having when the plan is to be surrounded by fire.
How to play this build
- Pair Burning Heart's aura with the Mahkten chest before building around the increased aura size. The helmet's Fire bonus supports that combination.
- Apply Burning, then use Cleansing Conflagration to spread it through a group. Choose a position you can leave safely when the aura or your mana runs out.
- Take duration support when Burning is already reliable. Use your weapon attacks between casts instead of spending all your mana at once.
Where to start and what to substitute
- If the chest is missing, a Fire Art can still apply your chosen effect, but it will not inherit the doubled aura size. Treat that as a different version of the build.
- Wear available defensive pieces until the Mahkten pieces are collected. A damage bonus is not a reason to give up every survivability upgrade.
Find equipment through exploration and mission rewards, then purify recovered gear at Sanctus Clypeus to make it available for future loadouts. Blacksmith upgrades are permanent. See gear and Purification for the progression steps.
- Burning Heart — Catalogue unlock: Mahkteah, The Lord of Perdition.
- Mahkten Shield — No specific acquisition location is confirmed in this catalogue.
When to change the plan
Burning immunity from Crown of Cinders is not immunity to every Fire attack or to physical hits. Crowd-spreading effects also offer less when there is only one target.
Make it yours
Nothing here is fixed. There are no classes in Crimson Moon, so every slot above is a choice you can change — and half a build is decided during the hunt anyway, at the Nexus Gates. Post what you end up running.
